About Green Man Cottage - Self Catering Cottage Holidays

Green Man Cottage nestles in the village of Redmile, two miles from Belvoir castle in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir. The village has a 'gastro-pub', with both fixed price and 'A la carte' menus, and further facilities (Co-op, Post Office, Spar, butchers etc) are to be found in the nearby village of Bottesford.

The cottage sleeps up to four people and all prices are fully inclusive of linen, towels, heating and logs for the wood-burning stove.

A Breakfast Welcome Pack of food and drink for your first one or two breakfasts is supplied; consisting of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, a range of Dorset Cereals, bread, butter and Bonne Maman preserves as well as half a dozen free range eggs from next door's chickens (when available). In addition to our own welcome pack, we have teamed up with a local farm shop which can supply lovely locally sourced meals, veg boxes, fruit boxes, local cheeses etc all delivered directly to Green Man Cottage. The Good Grub Company Farm Shop & Tea Room at Eastwell, will be happy to take your order in advance of your stay.

The accommodation is as follows:

Two bedrooms; one double, one twin.
Open plan living/dining area with log burning stove and electric heating throughout. Electricity is included in the price.
Fully fitted kitchen, including electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave oven, dishwasher and washing machine.
Spacious shower room. Dressing gowns and hairdryer provided. Private garden with patio and BBQ.

All linen and towels are provided free of charge.

Off-road parking for two vehicles. Secure garaging can be provided for motorcycles upon request and bicycle storage is available.

There is free availability of the owners' WiFi internet access which, with the aid of a booster, enables a computer to be used at the dining table. We have found that 'Apple' products are sometimes unable to connect to our system.

Places To Visit

Green Man Cottage nestles in the village of Redmile, two miles from Belvoir castle in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir. The village has a 'gastro-pub', with both fixed price and 'A la carte' menus, and further facilities (Co-op, Post Office, Spar, butchers etc) are to be found in the nearby village of Bottesford.

We can highly recommend The Picture Cafe at Bingham, which is owned and run by our good friends.

Redmile is close the A1 and has easy access to the market towns of Grantham (10m), Newark (12m), Melton Mowbray (14m) - home of the world famous pork pie - as well as being just 33 miles from the historic city of Lincoln and 20 miles from Nottingham.

Grantham railway station is just 1hr and 10mins from London, King's Cross and East Midlands Airport is 33 miles away.

The local area is a haven for wildlife and is ideal for walking and cycling. There is local access to fishing lakes and nearby golf courses.

Manufacturers of Stilton cheese can be visited at Colston Bassett and Cropwell Bishop.
