Places To Visit

Great Dixter and Sissinghurst gardens : Many wonderful gardens to visit locally Great Dixter the garden of the late Christopher LLoyd now managed by Fergus Garrett is well worth a visit. Sissinghurst gardens ( not open on a Monday) Pashley Manor, Marle Place, Hole Park are just a few locally.

Bodiam Castle is open all year around and is 10 minutes away. Next door to the castle is the Kent & Sussex steam railway.

We have two motor museums also nearby one the Morgan 3 wheeler museum at Rolvenden and the other a wonderful toy museum full of motor cars, etc.

London Canterbury Brighton France : London is just over an hour away by train with its wonderful museums and Houses of Parliament not forgetting Buckingham Palace and Big Ben. An open topped red bus is a good way of sightseeing all the famous places without the walking .

Canterbury and Brighton are packed with things to see and do.

France - the ferry or channel tunnel are also within an hour away. We quite often go across for a good french meal and very economical wine and cheese!

Village: The cottage is within walking distance of the village which has a good village shop( including a post office) which is open every day. Sandhurst also has a petrol garage, car repair garage, beauty parlour and tea shop.
