About Sycamore Farm Cottage - Self Catering Cottage Holidays


Sycamore Lodge Farm is a new barn conversion into luxury three bedroom holiday accommodation. The bungalow has a spacious lounge and dining area with exposed wooden beams and large conservatory with a four person hot tub; the extensive glass affords panoramic views over the Vale of Belvoir. This secluded spot sits in open countryside approximately one mile from the village of Harby near Melton Mowbray.

There is one double en-suite bedroom and two twin rooms, all furnished with locally made pine, plus a walk-in family wet room with shower, bath, wc and cosy underfloor heating. The bungalow offers full laundry and cooking facilities with a fully fitted kitchen and utility room.

The hot tub with its massaging water jets have a range of beneficial effects, or just provide another excuse for you to relax.

There are spacious grounds surrounding Sycamore farm, including a patio, barbecue area, garden and adequate car parking.

The market town of Melton Mowbray, famous for pork pies and Stilton cheese is 7 miles away. A traditional street and livestock market is held every Tuesday.

Travel: Nearest railway station is at Melton Mowbray, mainline stations at Nottingham and Grantham.

Local attractions: Robin Hood Centre at Nottingham, Sherwood Forest, Belvoir Castle, Rutland Water, English market towns and villages. We're on the northern border of Leicestershire convenient for Nottingham, 15 miles Loughborough, 18 miles to Oakham. 4 miles Waltham-on-the-Wolds.

The National Space Centre, a 45 minute drive away, makes a great all-weather family day out. It is devoted to space science and astronomy, and includes six interactive galleries crammed full of space suits, rockets, satellites and meteorites. The Patrick Moore Planetarium opened 2012 is the largest in Europe.

The National Water Sports Centre is a 30 minute drive and offers a variety of water based sports including: White water rafting, Sailing, Canoeing & Kayaking, Water Skiing and Powerboating.


Good places to visit: Nottingham with its castle and parks, Sherwood Forest and visitor centre, Belvoir Castle.
