About Sea Pinks Cottage - Self Catering Cottage Holidays

Sea Pinks Cottage sits in the bottom of a steep hill that is historic Mallams, in Fortune’s Well. The sea is almost on your doorstep and is close to a good ion of shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways to suit every pocket and all within walking distance.

Sea Pinks Cottage built around 1860 and once a Portland Stone fisherman’s cottage has been completely refurbished and decorated to exceptional standards to provide a truly inviting retreat for six people.

On entering the cottage you will find a stylish lounge with comfy seating for six. There is a Plasma TV with Freeview, radio, DVD and CD player and plenty of books and games. There is full central heating throughout the property and a gas fire in the lounge. The adjacent dining room similarly provides generous seating for six.

Leading off from the dining room there are doors leading to the secure walled garden, a real sun trap with garden table and seating and a BBQ.

The bright and airy kitchen has been completely renovated in recent times …. and has everything chef could need. There is a gas hob, electric oven, fridge freezer, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and Cafetiere. A washer/drier completes this very comprehensive inventory.

The stairs to the first and second floors are the steep originals .… and guests are kindly asked to supervise children under five.

On the first floor there is the stunning master bedroom with its views over the Portland skyline. The family bathroom shares this floor and again offers a really luxurious and stylish bathing experience - stunning moody lighting and a huge shower!

Up the final flight of stairs there are two well appointed twin bedded rooms. One with clear views of Lyme Bay and the other, distant roof tops over Chesil. All bedrooms have plenty of cupboard space and all linen, duvets and pillows are provided. Towels are available to hire at nominal cost.

With Sea Pinks Cottage as your base you can explore Portland, with it’s castle, Tout Quarry Sculpture Park and Lighthouse visitors centre.

Go walking, climbing, fishing or sailing. The National Sailing Academy is within easy reach where you can sit back on the balcony with a coffee and watch dinghy sailing and kite surfing in Portland Harbour.

Or wander down the promenade in Chesil Cove, have a meal at one of the pubs or restaurants. Weymouth is just a short drive away with is picturesque harbour and golden sandy beach. Buses run at 10 minute intervals throughout the day.

You are also on the edge of Hardy country, with its links to the author who referred to Portland as “The Isle of slingers”.

Children over 5 years welcome.
It is regretted that no pets are allowed in the cottage
